Playing Blackjack Online 2: The Card Counting Conept
The Card Counting Conept
Much of the cheating techniques previously being used by multitudes of players engaged in blackjack has largely been eliminated in the online games. One of these is the card-counting technique, which became such a big hit sometime in the 60's. Back then, a mathematician put forward a concept of counting the cards involved in a blackjack game with the ultimate aim of lowering, if not totally eliminating the advantage of most casino houses over the game, thus enabling players to have greater chances of winning. The card counting concept found publication in a book and for a time, many blackjack players benefited from it.
The triumph though was temporary. Many casinos soon enacted measures to counter the growing popularity of card counting. They added more decks to the standard blackjack games. In addition, they came up with machines capable of performing numerous and repeated mechanical shuffling of the cards. All of these measures proved to be so effective that they are now incorporated in many blackjack games that are being played online. As a result, several blackjack techniques, including the card-counting strategy, have become somewhat useless, though that has not stopped many blackjack players from making use of the tactics every once in a while.
